...solution to nigeria's current problems is with us,clergy declared..
Sequel to
the current crisis ravaging in the country, a clergyman and the General Overseer
of Mercy Tabernacle, Bishop Bankole Jefferson, has declared that it is only the
church that has a solution power to the crisis in the country. Speaking at the
mid-week service of the church on Wednesday, the man of God said the various
agitations by different ethnic groups are as a result of the neglect by the
government of the day.
The clergy
said government needs to know the root cause of their agitations and also
provide solutions to such act. Bishop Bankole Jefferson said the people are not
being carried along by their representatives. He said, though, solution is not
in their hands but from God. (Matthew 24:21)
In His
message, Bishop Bankole Jefferson said that ethnic division is not the solution
to the problem of Nigeria. He went further to say that why some people are
aggrieved in the Nation is because they are not being adequately catered for
and that national development is not equally distributed. He cited an example
of the early church in Acts 6:1 of how some people in the church felt cheated
and neglected as the church began to expand and that led to the division among
them. He related this to the agitation of the BIAFRAN people.
Bishop
Jefferson also remarked that the government should monitor how the federal
government allocation is being shared across the states to further avert any
unforeseen crisis in the country. He said he traveled to Kwara state through Kogi
State. He described the road as nothing to write home about in a state that has
Government. He described it as a death trap. He said without God’s intervention,
the country will be moving from bad to worse.
“In any
atmosphere where a group of people feel neglected, there will be complaints”.
He further stated that the solution is for everyone to be carried along and not
for the Nation to be divided.
“My counsel
to this present government is to wake up and do the needful. Almost getting to
four years now, we are yet to see any major development in the area of health,
infrastructure, Security, employment and youth empowerment “.
The
Clergyman said that salvation will come from the church because it is only the
Kingdom of God that will know peace and see prosperity; every other Kingdom
will collapse but God’s Kingdom will reign forever and the only way to be saved
from this destruction is to practice the principles of God’s Kingdom, He
concluded
