KOKUMO KICK START 2016 TREE PLANTING PROGRAMME.
As part of
effort to compliment the Lagos state government initiative to protect life and
property from natural or environmental disaster, the Ojodu local council
development area has join in this bid to plant more trees around its
environment, welcoming ojodu residence at the 2016 tree planting programme in
the area the sole administrator of the council. Hon. olushola stella kukomo
said the 2016 tree planting programme is very important to the good people of
the area as to prevent any unforeseen disaster. She said the state governor
akinwumi ambode has done well with the initiatives given to all the local
government area and LCDA to follow suit, the council boss said the tree
plantation exercise will cut across the council, adding that all plane has been
put in place to monitor and prevent damage to the entire plantation. She challenges
residence of the area to join hand with the local government administration in
other to ensure that the tree plantation programme is a huge success.
Speaking
in the same vain the commissioner for environment in Lagos state who was
represented said the tree plantation programme will go a long way if all the
good people of ojodu join hand with the government to make it work, he said the
idea of the government was to ensure a safety environment for all the people of
Lagos state. The tree plantation programme was well attended by stakeholders in
the council, traditional rulers, CDA.CDC and ojodu residence
