Dr. Oluseyi Dada told Top Celebrities Assistant Editor, Sunday Adeyemi that the major reason he is aspiring for House of Representatives is to go there and liberate his people from poverty and one of the channel is to use his education. Kindly introduce yourself to us Sir?

Yes, my name is Dr. Oluseyi Akintunde Dada, I am from Ayetoro, Yewa North, Ogun State.

Tell us other things we need to know about you?

Well, currently I am a lecturer in University of Calabar, I have worked at University of Ibadan, Federal College of Education, Oyo State and I have more than 20 publications both local and foreign. I have represented Nigeria in some number of occasions, as a delegate to some conferences that have to do with education.

Why did you want to go to House of Representatives under Yewa North Constituency?

Well, that is a very interesting question. Yes, the answer is multidimensional but as far as I can mention now, I will just give you few of the reasons. In Ogun State, Yewa North or Yewa land, I don’t want to call it the name people call it but Yewa people are regarded as minority people and one of the things I feel I woe that land is to promote Yewa land and as we all know, you can’t do anything meaningful if you are out of the focus of government interest, you are out of the focus of the interest of the people and I think one of the instrument or tools that I can use to really promote the land is joining politics and defend the course of our people, the interest of our people in the national assembly.

Have you ever embarked on any project in your area to give you such confidence to contest for the House of Representatives slot, if any could you please tell us?

Yes, what people call project, I have a bias definition for it. People see giving money for ceremony as project, giving money for party and all of that. This is not a project, that cannot really barricade poverty. Sometimes, maybe, politicians come home every weekend, buy beer for people, get them drink. Look, when I spent money, I make people happy even if that can be said it is part of it, to entertain people and making them happy, but in a developmental project is far beyond that. So, to answer your question, as a lecturer, every year I make sure I assist students in getting admission into the university or higher school of learning, they might not see it as a service that can be described as a project but I want to tell you this is what we need because most of our children in Yewa land after primary school, what you see them do is okada job, going out of the town to become slaves, in search of what will sustain them, but I want to say that I have been encouraging parents in Yewa to encourage their wards to go to school, get education and developing themselves, that is the first instrument to fight poverty. We cannot fight poverty without education, so that is one. Two, within my area, particularly, my own unit, the major problem we have is water and you know virtually every government always have water project as their priority because some people say without water there is no life. So, in my own little way, I have been able to dig some number of boreholes to provide water for the people and getting them out from the problem of water. In my area and other neighbouring villages, I have been able to talk to the council of elders there to establish schools and as I am talking to you now, we have five schools that have been established although they are not wearing the structure we need but at least we have started; there is one around Imeko community, the government has provided teachers now, I assisted them with the provision of furniture, so that the children can get education because the global pursuit now is that children should have access to education and next quality education is a priority. Also, we have been able to provide infrastructural material for those schools, so that it will motivate teachers and students. Moreso, there are other schools that we’d started (in their third term), so in such community, they have suffered for so many years, their children travel far away to attend school in the neighbouring towns, the neighbouring town I am talking about have schools and I have met some other community leaders so that such gesture can as well get to them. So, I promise to do more if the opportunity is given to me.

You talked about poverty, are you very close to the grassroots to know where the show is pinching your people?

I spent my early life there, I schooled there, I schooled in Ayetoro community, I had my primary and secondary education there. So, I understand what poverty means to my people, we don’t even have any higher institution, had it been we have one in would have had my education there too. So, I know what it takes, I was able to make it though very young, I had my education because of the opportunity of scholarship then with the state government, I know many of my friends that we started together then but didn’t have the opportunity. Today, by the grace of God, I am a PhD holder, it is simply because of the opportunity I had and this is very rare in our time even until now, it is that opportunity that I am advocating for, that is should be readily available because without education there is no way you can eradicate poverty, you measure poverty by the standard of living of the people, when people cannot eat two square meal per day. If you make carry out research in Yewa land, in a family of 4 you hardly find money why because poverty is everywhere.                   

What should your people expect from you eventually you are given the ticket?

Of course they know the kind of person I am and I know I have been with them, they know my background, they know what I can do or not, I am sure the expectation will be high. So, one of my major priorities is on education, next to that is employment; few ones among my people that have been able to come out of higher institutions will be catered for, I hope to have a vocation centre in the two local government that forms the constituency where skills will be rendered to our youths, then , our major occupation in Yewa land which is farming, will be given full support to help them develop their farming processes to have high product by subsidizing agricultural needs like fertilizers and others and also encourage them into mechanized farming. I am very sure with all these, because we have the potentials but we don’t have the support. We want to thank the governor for the present administration in Ogun State, he has been encouraging us through the construction of roads, this is a big access for us and industrialization as the Lord will help me if possible, I am going to bring in entrepreneurs to come in and establish few firms there so that they can offer our people jobs.

Presently, there was faction in APC in Ogun State, does this in any way affect your ambition?

Not only APC, faction is always everywhere, I want to tell you this is a problem that is temporarily, I can assure you that before the end of the month, I mean a couple of days, the problem will be over. So, just be rest assured it will soon fade off, we are one, APC is not two in Ogun State.

How will you describe the leadership of Senator Ibikunle amosun in Ogun State?

Senator Ibikunle Amosun is doing well even though there are challenges, what every good leader need is good followership, Governor Amosun has done some couple of good projects but I know with the cooperation of the followers he will do more for the state.

                      

ZAMFARA STATE IS LIVING ON FIRE,GOV.YARI HAS NO PLAN FOR THE PEOPLE

Monumental fraud in Zamfara -How Gov Yari milk the state dry Eighteen years after creation, Zamfara State still remains a traditional rural State due to some lapses, gross non-performance and corruption by virtually all the previous administrations of the state. In this analysis, our correspondent  take a peep at the state and the impediment that deters the progress and revealed that democracy still stand a chance of survival only if the main actors can give the necessary inputs in real term. For quite a long time, Zamfara has prayed for salvation and solace especially, This is what the political class here in Zamfara lacks, a sense of dedication, patriotism and commitment. Most of them are not even fair to themselves much less for those that gave them the mandate. Pundits averred that the attitude in itself is inimical to democratic ideals and consequently anti democratic and by extension autocratic, a situation where anything can go when money is involved is very disastrous and unfortunate. Truly, democratic set up in Nigeria were full of corruption or corrupt practices. It is the same practice that had hindered the state from economic growth and infrastructural development despite collecting over N370billion as statutory allocation from the federation account within the period Investigations revealed that Governor Abdul Azees Yari’s administration has failed by the judgment of majority and infact by his own admission and to register and appreciable success. His failures were indeed followed by his inability to fight corruption or better still his choice to allow carefree attitude of people in the corridors of power to continue dominating the system. Infact everything remains as it was even worse. Money from the public treasury were used to achieve political ends, an episode where government tendered cash allegedly forwarded to top politicians for victories is still the public funds. And none of them has given any explanation in that matter. This administration has not made any sincerity and dedication as their hallmark which is why they have not built strong economic base and conducive Zamfara State. The money they were alleged to have looted is more than the little they spent for public projects during this administration. The evil calamity they inflicted on the masses is still haunting the common masses. The state has been placed into a waste basket. Ask them, is money they stole into their accounts not enough to service the debt the state owes? After robbing the state of its resources, they still went to disgrace its image in the world. Governor Yari on assuming power worsen the debt crisis in the state by securing illegal loan of N4billion allegedly with high interest rate in a supposedly Sharia. The facility was secured without the approval of the state House of Assembly and before the constitution of the state executive council. Questionable projects that are not priority to the immediate needs of the people but were created to favour the economic interest of friends, associates and conduit pipes was awarded by Yari in violation of due process and from all analysis over inflated. Governor Yari is perhaps today the most widely travelled state governor in Nigeria with a record of spending over N2billion according to an insider that pleaded not to be mentioned on expenses incurred on hotel, food and air craft charter across Nigeria. His frequent travels to Dubai, London and Suadi Arabia according to the source has cost the poor people of Zamfara state more than N500million with the period of less than one year according to the source. Within the same period, Zamfara owing to Yari’s negligence and disregard to the welfare of the people has lost the services of more than 20 medical doctors due to non payment of their salaries and failure to effect the payment of their allowances and salary increament. Investigation also reveals that nearly 50% of the highly substandard but inflated projects Yari has embarked upon was concentrated in his home town of Talatan Mafara, a move condemn by citizens of the state as irresponsible for a leader that was elected by all the people of the state. Another source who pleaded anonymity told this paper that Yari was warned by his Malam not to relocate to the Government House hence his illegal decision to remain in his home at Talatan Mafara since he was elected and incurring huge expenses in the process and subjecting the police and other security agents to divide within the Government House in Gusau and the governor’s house at Talatan Mafara. Among all the former governors of Zamfara state according to those interviewed by this paper, “Yari in less than one year through his conduct, policies and vision has proven to be the most insensitive with no clear policy direction. From creation, the state has never got any direction or focus due to poor financial management by the past leaders of the state. The whole system has become faulty democratically as there was no trust or truth in the system. The influx of the youth to the urban areas increased the rate of political thuggery in the state. According to Malam Bello Gusau, “it is shameful and disgraceful that the world has stepped into a global village, yet Zamfara is yet to locate its level, in dare need of development. The failure of all the government is because they did not have the sense of purpose, direction and focus. The gravity of the whole offence lays drastically and terrifyingly on the past leaders who left power to Governor Abdul’azeez Yari. While Yari had continued to plunder as the case of his predecessors, pundits believed that he inherited virtually nothing from the past governors. But considering the kind of leadership and lack of accountability Zamfara witnessed in the last ten months under Yari, the incumbent governor and his predecessors are to be collectively blamed for the backwardness of the state and for allowing so called contractors to defraud the state with nothing commensurate in return. Pundits also averred that if Yari is indeed serious in fighting corruption he must start with himself by stopping his unnecessary foreign and domestic trips and ensure sanity and transperancy in awarding government contract and in determining who or which company is qualified. They also said that Yari should start the war on corruption by subjecting his blood brother, Ja’afaru Dan’ auta to the EFCC for investigation because according to them the stupendous wealth Dan’auta is intimidating the people with which he didn’t have prior to the emergence of his brother as governor must be investigated to convince the people that Yari is sincere and committed to fight corruption. They said virtually all the commissioners of Yari are redundant because all issues that has to do with money is now under the authority and monopoly of Dan’auta, Usman Sahabi Kaura and Alhaji Sani Jega. “The situation in Zamfara is unfortunate. Dan’auta is illiterate and has nothing before his brother became governor. Usman Sahabi has been cheating Zamfara and making millions since Yarima was governor. If the governor is serious Dan’auta, Usman Kaura and Sani Jega must go to jail for the financial crimes they are committing against Zamfara and its citizens”, Bello said. But many believed that if the way Yari has started by reducing government to impact on the economic lives of few privileged in the state is anything to go by, he will go down as the worst governor Zamfara state has ever had. A notorious fake prophet, Chuks Samson Obasi who has been parading himself as Dr. Chris Okafor  the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and miracle ministry, aka Liberation City, has been nabbed in Lagos, this 33year old and a native of ebonyi state met his waterloo last Sunday, 9^th of March,2014 IN MAGODO,LAGOS. after he was tracked down by some Liberation City Security Operatives, he was said to have come to collect money from one of his client not knowing that the church securities have been on the lookout for him, he was apprehended and handed over to the police at the police post in Adigboluja Ojodu Abiodun of Ogun State.

The hunt for this fake prophet began when the church realized that some church members were making comments that a man came calling that he is the founder of Liberation City that if they want him to go to their village that they must be ready to give certain amount of money depending on their cases, since then the church has continued to monitor the activities of this evil man, but his cup got filled on a fateful Sunday as he was in church for the first service, at the second service the man of God located a lady called Juliet and the man of God warned Juliet to be wary of fake prophet that is about to defraud her, immediately the lady said one Obasi was in church for the first service that it was the GO that directed that she should follow him (Chuks Obasi) to the mountain for special family deliverance, the contact of the fake prophet was collected and contacted by the church security operatives. The security operatives contacted him in disguise as if they were the lady he was asked to come to makodo to collect the 20,000 agreed with the lady for the deliverance, unknown to him they were security operatives, he came and he was apprehended.

While interrogating Chuks Obasi on where he was ordained as a man of God, he said his mother told him he is a special being that God want to use him, that is why he took to this job, he confessed that he is only doing the job to make ends meet and sustain his family, he also said he has duped lots of people pretending to be a popular man of God, he confessed that if the country is good he would not have been doing such hideous acts. YES YOU SAID YOUR BEST IS YET TO COME SOME PEOPLE WILL BE SURPRISE AT WHAT YOU WANT AGAIN, YOU HAVE A BIG CONGREGATION,OUTREACHES,LAST YEAR YOU ARE IN MORE THAN ELEVEN COUNTRY TO PREACH THE WORD,SO WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?

Yes you see God give us that mandate to reach one billion soul, though looking at it you will know is not easy to reach 1billion soul, but he said these gospel must be preached to every creator then the end will come according Mathew chapter 24 verse 14, the end is not coming right away, but the end will come, because the coming of the lord biblical is somehow conditional, because the gospel must be preached to every creator then end will come, so the mandate God is given to me is to reach 1billion soul, i.e, if God gave you a mandate to reach 1biliion and you are only able to get 200million you don’t bank on the hiphoria that you will get the rest 800million,you too will know that there are lot of lack in it, so our best is yet to come.

OUT OF THE 1BILLION SOUL YOU ARE MANDATED TO WIN FOR CHRIST HOW MANY HAVE YOU RECORDED, SO FAR?

By the grace of God you see, we have reach a lot of people, like last year we have crusade across the country, in enugu state we have over 20,000 people in attendance, in eboyin state the same thing, Abuja, warri the same thing that is how it is across the country, also in Cameroun, south Africa, and America, we recorded lot of people given their life to Christ. and in prior to this we also have our television outreaches, we have our own television, liberation television, this one reaches all African countries and about three or four country in Europe, as am talking to you right now we are at the edge of entering another platform, that is called the sky, this reaches every part of Europe and we are also in advance talk with the galaxy, galaxy is another type of network, because the network we are now is called VSAT, so the one that cover the whole of Europe is called the SKY, the one that cover the whole of America and north America is called the GALAXY, so currently we are talking to them, so we can be able to reach the one billion soul and if possible go beyond the mandate

SIR DID YOU THINK THAT IS REALISABLE BECAUSE ONE BILLION SOULS IS MUCH, EVEN 1BILIION NAIRA IS HUGE NOT TO TALK OF SOULS?

It is possible let me tell you there are people I reach, now am not in the church or a crusade ground, these television channels is a 24hour service, i.e liberation television and people are watching it, people have been delivered, healed through liberation television, barren women have conceive through liberation TV, thousands and thousands have given their life to Jesus through this TV, you see this is another arm of the ministry, millions of people are watching it at the same time so we have actually gone far in that regards by GOD grace

WHAT ACTUALLY MADE YOU LOOK GOOD DESPITE YOU EVER BUSY SCHELDULE EVERY DAY

It does not take anything to look good, it is only discipline, why I said that, there is this ideology which says cleanliness is second to Godliness, it has always be like this since my old school days, I was born without a silver spoon, I was born into a family, my father was a carpenter, and my mum a vegetable seller, who were so poor that the poor called us poor, we leave in one room all together, we are about eleven, or twelve of us, living together, I do remembered those days we wash over night then in the morning you wear it they call it wash and wear, so to be clean is discipline there some people who has many cloth but still they are very dirty, it is a class maybe because how we are raise up I also discover that the s[spirit of God is a spirit of excellence, he said where there is spirit of God there is liberty, when we talk about liberty it is not only when people are been free but liberty in the form of cleanliness, when you watch the church we ensure that everything is been kept in order from the inside to outside, many of us the house we leave we put it in other so why can’t we put the house of God in order, so it centre on everything we you see me wear reflect me and the ministry, so it is the reflection of what God has put around me.

PEOPLE HAVE ALWAYS WANT TO ASK YOU, WHERE ARE YOU COMING FROM SIR, I MEAN YOUR SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Am a normal Christian from a Christian home, I was born and brought up from a Christian background, but I encounter Jesus Christ at the rightful age of 8years,my parents are elders in the church, we are Anglicans, we are from a prayerful home, when my mum was pregnant of me, a lots of prophets gave my mum prophesy that she is going to give birth to a great man of God, that will be well known around the world and God will use him to do mighty things all over so it was not a surprise to my mum and all people around her then, so it was not also  a surprise about these gift, because in Jeremiah chapter twelve verse five, he said to Jeremiah that before a form you in your mother’s womb I know who you are, I ordained you a prophet before you were born, so it is something that is predestine. ordained so God has always been précised, we are raised in a family that is well discipline, we are awake as early has 5am for morning devotion on a daily bases, weather you are two years old or not, my mother must carry you this is a standing order, then by 9pm,every body must come for night prayer then everybody under that roof must fast three days  a week, you must fast on Tuesday ,Friday and Sunday, so the upbringing does not permit you anything less, so the upbringing shaped me into my calling, ministry and what God called me to be, it really help me.

BEFORE YOUR MINISTERIAL JOURNEY DID YOU WORK IN ANY CHURCH, OR SERVE UNDER ANY MAN OF GOD

Like I have always said I have indirectly been influence by lot of men of God, you know you can influence somebody indirectly; you can mentor somebody indirectly or directly, maybe through books, television, and so on I was born in Benin, so I was privileged to be under the teaching of archbishop benso idahosa,I was greatly influenced by this great man of God and some other minister, just as you have your biological father and a spiritual father.

WHERE YOU A MEMBER OF ANY CHURCH BEFORE YOU START YOUR MINISTRY

No am not a member of any church, as a matter of fact we use to do fellowship, and fellowship is not a church, when I came to lagos I never belong to any church, so we start liberation city from one room, in the house of an Anglican priest, reverend chuks eleaze,he was of great help to this ministry, you know if you are coming from a ministry you have already has a platform people know you but this our ministry everything you see, was from the scratch,

AND IN LESS THAN TEN YEARS THE CHURCH HAS GONE SO FAR?

That is why I said it is nothing but God doing, when the hand of God is upon you, it does not matter what people say or do, again if everybody accept you that means you are not doing fine, because what you are doing should be seen as a challenge to others, as a problem to the kingdom of darkness, so when Jesus came being the son of God in the image of man, everybody never supported him, the said a lot of things about him, the consistencies and the sustainability is what make him know if God is here or not

PEOPLE ALSO ASK THAT DID YOU HAVE ANY THEOLOGICAL TRAINING SIR?

I told you I was tortured under archbishop benson idahosa teaching,it depends on what you mean there is one thing we fail to understand, bible school does not made you called it is God that calls people, sometime you may go to bible school and not be called, so these is the fact, let me show you something in the bible, Mathew 10,so you can know the difference between calling and the bible school, that does not mean we don’t study, if you go to my study room, I have read over 1,000 books, the bible in that verse said he called and gave them power the bible did not say the bible school but he called his chosen one, so have reads books and it also shaped my life, I did not go to any bible school, I don’t have any certificate from any bible school, so the holy bible is my bible school

I have always said this I don’t leave my house number one, there are so deliberate wall built around me that make it so impossible and difficult for anybody to break, there are deliberate walls, for example for the fact that I have appointment with you, you will not come here accept you are invited, I have protocol officer and some physical police men that mount my security network, so it will be difficult for you to break in, also you can’t find me outside I don’t go to events, functions or social places, my movement is house to church, church to house except if I want to travel then you see me in the airport, also I only relax for some time at home because I must wake up every 2am on a daily bases to pray till 7am, so I usually sleep in the day time

God has been accurate, even before now not only in the year, God is not a static one, God is a progressive and a creative God, and the bible says every secret belong to God, he reveals in other to redeem, there was some prophesy that was given during our cross over night and some are still coming I remember vividly that God gave a revelation that the NUJ should pray against untimely death among its members and if possible the NUJ member should come together to pray to that more danger will be averted, but not too long while we are praying we heard one of their editors was killed, after the prophesy so God reveal in other to redeem, there were prophesy about plane crash two week ago a plane crash was averted through prayer, it is not that am a prophet of doom, prophesying evil, no, God reveals to redeem, and what is the essence of revealing it is not to be heard, it is because God want to do things, create quarters and get authority there, some have be saying all these, God spoke to me exclusively that the current president, Dr goodluck jonathan will be Nigeria president after 2015 general election, there will be a lot of battle, there will be a lot of betrayer, there will be a lot of court cases, concerning his election but at the end of the day, he will still remain the president because god show me specifically that he has been ordained to run for two terms it not about man making or he wants even if he does not want, God has already declared it to me, mark what I said if it does not come to pass know am not call of God

WHEN DID YOU START TWO SUNDAY SERVICE IN YOUR CHURCH AND WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THESE?

Yes in the month of February 2014. Liberation city begins two Sunday service, and because of space we took these step to curtail the crumbling of the people in the street every service day they see us as threat to their livelihood, so we carefully enquired from the lord and we came to the conclusion that we should begins to ruin two services, so the first service start by 6.45-10.30am while second starts by 11am -1pm

(Long laugh)I will answer this through word of God in 1corinthian 2-14,says the natural man does not receive things of the spirit, so a natural man can never have this understanding, sometime this kind of talk come from some pastor in quote, but because they don’t have understanding on how to ruin a prophetic ministry, take for example Jesus Christ too ruin a prophetic ministry too, in john 4,jesus met a women the Samaritan women he said give me water, he asked the woman where is your husband but the woman said she has no husband, jesus told her she already has 5husband in her life and the woman ran outside shouting come and see a man that took me everything I have done in secret, so you see what am talking they are ignorant of the word of God, he said people who are not spiritual cannot descend of the things of the spirit, so how comes God has been able to reveal those airplane crash, the death of nelson Mandela, even the scores of some of Nigeria football match, so whatever you don’t know you will thinks its impossible, whereas that is his gift, he is anointed to do that, so there are born prophets and there are have bake, I have been doing these since I was 8years old, so you can see the difference about all these, so God who see the past. present and future, he does not need to come down himself but send someone to do is will, he sent a man and give the person his master plan.

The mountain of liberation has taken another dimension to curtailed the overflow of it worshippers every Sunday as the church has begun  two session, the first service starts at 6.30am- 10.30 am while the second service start by 11am -2pm, according to the senior pastor this became very important because every Sunday the street is put on hold as worshipper filled in the main auditorium, the overflow and even on the street, so the church management took that decision and has God will make it the first two service was perfect.
